You summon a volley of six razor-sharp icicles that glint like crystalline tears. Make a ranged spell attack for each icicle. You can target one creature or divide the icicles among several within range.

On a hit: The target takes 1d8 cold damage.

Freeze Trigger: If at least six icicles from this casting hit the same creature, that creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become encased in ice until the end of your next turn.

While encased:

• The creature is petrified.
• It is vulnerable to bludgeoning damage.

The effect ends early if the creature takes bludgeoning damage, as the ice shatters.

At Higher Levels: You create two additional icicles for each spell slot level above 2. A creature must still be hit by six or more icicles to trigger the freeze.
